Tips Maintenance and restoring printer codes
For Lexmark printers:
LaserPrinter 10R/10 Plus, 12 and 16 Series, Optra R & L:
1.Turn the printer off.
2. Access Diagnostics Mode my pressing the READY and RETURN keys until the PERFORMING SELF TEST message appears on your printer’s screen.
3. Select the MAINTENANCE COUNT option.
4. Now select RESET until the counter goes back to zero (0).
5. Press the RETURN button once more to go back to the main Diagnostics Mode menu. Put the printer back to normal mode.
Optra S 2420/2450/2455/3455 printer models:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Access Diagnostics Mode by pressing the GO and RETURN keys until the PERFORMING SELF TEST message appears on your printer’s screen. You should be able to see the PRINT REGISTRATION option.
3. Go to PRINTER SETUP and press the SELECT button.
4. Browse until you reach the MAINTENANCE PAGE COUNT option and press the SELECT key once more.
5. Look for the RESET MAINTENANCE COUNT option and press the SELECT key to set the score back to zero (0).
6. Press the RETURN button to go back to the main Diagnostics Mode menu, and then exit this menu to resume normal functioning.
Optra S, 2420/2450/2455/3455 printers:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Access the Configuration Menu by pressing the SELECT and RETURN keys until PERFORMING SELF TEST and, later on, CONFIG MENU, appear on your printer’s screen.
3. Press the arrow pointing right on this same MENU until MAINTENANCE PAGE COUNT shows up on screen.
4. Press the SELECT button until you’ve reached RESET.
5. Hit the SELECT button to restart the count.
6. Press the RETURN button once more to go back to the last menu, and then the arrow pointing left until you exit CONFIG MENU.
Optra W810 printers:
1. Access the configuration menu by pressing the SELECT and RETURN keys until you leave PERFORMING SELF TEST behind and CONFIG MENU appears on screen.
2. Press the arrow pointing left on this same menu until you reach MAINT., where you’ll be able to see a counter.
3. PRess the SELECT button until you see RESET TRANSFER or RESET FUSER on screen. Hit the SELECT button once more to restart the counter.
4. Press the RETURN button again to go back to Configuration Menu, and then the arrow pointing left to exit it.
Optra C710 printers:
1. Enter CONFIG MENU by pressing both the SELECT and RETURN button until you pass PERFORMING SELF TEST and reach CONFIG MENU.
2. Press the button right next to MENU and then the one to its left until you’ve reach RESET FUSER COUNT.
3. Press the SELECT button again to set the score back to zero (0).
Optra C720 printers:
1. Your printer must be turned off.
2. Access Diagnostics Menu to reset everything by pressing the GO and RETURN buttons.
3. Turn the printer on while pressing both keys, GO and RETURN, down.
4. Continue pressing them until PERFORMING SELF TEST appears on screen.
5. Select the RESET COUNTERS option in Diagnostics Mode.
6. Pick the individual counter and press the SELECT button once more.
Optra C750 printers:
1. Enter CONFIG MENU by pressing the SELECT and RETURN KEYS until you see PERFORMING SELF test appear on screen and, later on, CONFIG MENU. Do not let go of these buttons until you’ve reached said menu.
2. Select Individual Fuser Reset or ITU Device Reset.
Optra SC 1275/Color 1200 printers:
1. Turn your printer off.
2. Press both the GO and RETURN keys until PERFORMING SELF TEST appears onscreen.
3. Once you’ve reached REGISTRATION, press the button right next to Menu six (6) times in a row until MAINTENANCE MENU unfolds.
4. Press the SELECT KEY once, and then the button right next to Menu until you see 80 or 81 RESET on the printer’s screen.
5. Hit the RETURN key until MAINTENANCE MENU is displayed again. Presione el botón RETURN hasta el despliegue de MAINTENANCE.
6. Press the button on the right side of MENU until EXIT DIAGNOSIS appears.
7. Press the SELECT button again to go back to normal mode.
Impresoras Sharp JX9400/9600/TI PRO 600 printers:
- Disconnect the printer entirely.
- Reconnect the device while pressing the ENTER and MENU keys. PCU DIALOG MODE will appear on screen. Please press the MENU button six (6) times until SET COUNTER is displayed.
- Press the ENTER button. Five x’s (XXXXX) will appear on screen, and the first three letters will be blinking.
- Press the Triangle button to get rid of those three numbers (000).
- Press MENU once more. Now the numbers on the right side will be blinking.
- Press the Triangle button again to set these back to zero (00).
- Hit the MENU button once more. XXXXX will reappear on screen with, again, the first three characters blinking.
- Repeat the previous steps. XXXXX will keep appearing.
- Repeat the entire process described ahead to obtain XXXXX again.
- Keep repeating the steps. XXX will show up.
- Select 005 and press the MENU button. XXX will be displayed once more.
- The level should be between 90 and 110. If any problem shows yp, try changing these values. Press the ENTER key until CONTENER SET unfolds.
- Press FORM FEED down and insert a blank paper sheet in the Manual Slot Feed. You should hear a beeping sound that confirms the Reset process.
- Finally, disconnect and reconnect the printer.
HP Printers:
Internal test for HP Deskjet printers:
[600/600C/610C/630C/632C/640C/642C/648C/660C/670C/680C/690C]
Ink cartridge cleaning test:
Once you’ve disconnected your printer, press the POWER button. Hit the RESUME key seven (7) times in a row very quickly.
Regular diagnosis:
While keeping your printer connected, press the POWER button down and hit the RESUME key five (5) times in a row. Your printer will print out a page with the results and general status.
Extended diagnosis:
While your printer’s connected, press the POWER key down and hit the RESUME button twelve (12) times in a row. The printer will produce a page with the results.
For HP Deskjet 800c printers:
Auto-test:
Once your printer’s on, press the POWER button down while you hit the RESUME key four (4) times. This is compatible with the following printer models:HP Deskjet 810c/ 825c/ 830c/ 840c/845c/ 880c/ 895.
Diagnostics test:
While your printer’s connected, press the POWER button down and hit the RESUME key four (4) times.
For HP C6656 (56-58) printers:
1. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
2. Place a small piece of duct tape on the upper-left slot, on the exact the spot indicated with a red square in Figure A.
3. Put the ink cartridges back in the printer.
4. The printer will now perform page alignment tasks.
5. Once the alignment has been done, remove the ink cartridge from the printer once more.
6. Put another piece of duct tape on the upper-right contact, also indicated with a red square on Figure B.
7. Place the ink cartridge back in the printer, keeping both pieces of duct tape on. They will isolate the necessary contacts.
8. The printer will print another test sheet at this point.
9. After the test sheet has been finished, take the ink cartridge out.
10. Remove both pieces of duct tape carefully to avoid leaving any glue residue on the contacts.
11. Return the ink cartridge to the printer. It has already been restored.
For HP 51641, HP 51645, C1823, C6615 and C6578 printer models:
For more recent versions of the HP 51641 / 51645 / C1823 / C6615 / C6578 ink cartridges:
The following procedure will allow you to restart your printer’s ink level indicator and System ID.
- Extract the ink cartridges from your printer.
- Place a piece of duct tape on each of the four (4) metallic contacts on the upper-left side of the ink cartridges, right where the red squares are pointing in the pictures ahead. Place the ink cartridges back in the device.
- Close the printer’s gate and wait for ten (10) seconds.
- Reopen the gate and wait for the ink cartridges to reach a changing position.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
- Take off the pieces of duct tape covering the contacts on the left and put them on the contacts on the right side. The spots will be marked with a red square on the picture above.
- Put the ink cartridges back in the printer, close the gate and wait for another ten (10) seconds.
- Open the gate once more and wait for the ink cartridges to reach the same changing position.
- Remove the ink cartridges once more.
- Remove every piece of duct tape.
- Put all the ink cartridges back in the printer.
- The ink level indicators must now say FULL.
For HP Multifuncion D125 - D145 - D155 printer models:
The procedure described ahead will allow you to remove the ink level indicator inside your old ink cartridges and use recycled or refilled ones. You must keep in mind that, once you disable this ink level indicator, you will not be able to know if your ink levels are high or low, and risk depleting the ink cartridge completely. this could burn your print heads and render the ink cartridge useless.
1. Press the right and left arrows at the same time. Release them.
2. Press the 7, 8 and 9 keys.
3. Once the prompt disable has appeared on screen, press 1 for YES or 2 for NO.
To disable ink level indicator in the Tricolor ink cartridge:
1. Press the left and right arrow at the same time and release them.
2. Press the 4, 5 and 6 keys.
3. Press 1 for YES and 2 for NO now that the disable prompt has showed up.
To restore them back to factory settings:
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Press the 7 and 5 keys. Once the MAINTENANCE MENU unfolds, select RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS.
For HP Inkjet CP1160 printer model:
This following procedure will allow you to disable ink level indicator inside your ink cartridge and, therefore, use recycled or refilled ones. It’s important you remember that disabling this function will not let you know when ink is running low, so you may risk burning the print heads and damage the ink cartridge irreparably.
for Black ink cartridges:
1. Press the POWER button down.
2. Without letting go of this button, press the CANCEL button twelve (12) times and the RESUME one once.
3. Let go of the POWER key.
For Tricolor ink cartridges:
1. Press the POWER button down.
2. While keeping it pressed, press the CANCEL key twelve (12) times and the RESUME one thrice.
3. Let go of the POWER button.
For HP IIISi printers:
1. Press the ONLINE key until the light stops.
2. Now press the MENU button until PCL CONFIG MENU appears on screen.
3. Press the MENU key again until hasta SERVICE MSG=ON* shows up.
4- Hit the + or - keys until it turns to SERVICE MSG=OFF.
5. Press ENTER/RESET MENU; the * symbol will appear. Then press ONLINE once more.
For HP 4Si printers:
1. Press ONLINE until the light goes away.
2. Press the MENU key until CONFIG MENU appears.
3. Press the ITEM button until you0ve reached SERVICE MSG=ON.
4. Use the + or - keys to change this display to SERVICE MSG=OFF.
5. Finally, press ENTER until * shows up. Later, press ONLINE once more.
For HP5Si printers:
1. Press the MENU button four (4= times until you gain access to CONFIG MENU.
2. Press ITEM until SERVICE MESSAGE=OFF is displayed.
3. Press the ENTER key.
4. Finally, press ONLINE.
For HP 4000/4050/4100/5000 printers:
1. Disconnect the printer.
2. Press the left side of the ITEM key down (<-/->) and the VALUE +/- ones.
3- Reconnect the printer and wait until RESET MAINTENANCE COUNT is displayed.
Fuser maintenance on HP 4500/4550 printer:
1. Disconnect the printer.
2. Press the CANCEL JOB and SELECT keys on your printer, and then reconnect it. Wait until the display is completely blank and the LED indicators light up.
3. Press the right edges of the MENU and SELECT keys.
4. You will enter SERVICE MODE once the test has been completed.
5. Press the ITEM key (<-/->) until FUSER MAINTENANCE COUNT is displayed.
6. Press the VALUE +/- one to change this score to zero (0).
7. Press SELECT to save these settings.
8. Finally, hit the GO button.
For HP 8000/8100/8150 printers:
1. Press MENU until CONFIGURATION MENU is displayed.
2. Now press the ITEM key until you reach SERVICE MESSAGE = ON/OFF.
3. Select the OFF option.
4. Press SELECT to save these settings.
5. Disconnect the printer.
6. Press VALUE - (-/+) and ITEM <- (<-/->) as you’re reconnecting the printer. Wait until RESET MAINT/COUNT appears on screen to let go.
For HP 9000 printers:
1. Disconnect the printer.
2. Press the CHECK key.
3. Let go of this button only after all LED indicators are synched and SELECT LANGUAGE appears on screen.
4. Press the arrow pointing upwards until MAINTENANCE KIT unfolds.
5. finally, press CHECK once more. This will reset the counter.
For HP Color Laserjet 4500/4550 printer:
1. Press the MENU key until RESETS MENU is displayed.
2. Press ITEM (<-/->) until you reach TRANSFER KIT SELECT IF DONE.
3. Press the SELECT button.
Fuser Kit Reset on HP Color Laserjet 4500/4550 printer:
1. Press the MENU key until RESETS MENU appears on screen.
2. Press ITEM (<-/->) until you reach FUSER KIT SELECT IF DONE.
3. Now press the SELECT button.
4. Finally, hit GO.
Image Transfer Kit (ETB) Reset on HP Color LaserJet 4600 printers:
After maintenance has been completed on this printer, NEW TRANSFER KIT = should appear on screen.
Press the arrow facing down until you can dial YES and press the CHECK key to reset it. You could also enter CONFIGURE DEVICE, select RESETS and RESET SUPPLIES, and finally hit NEW TRANSFER KIT.
Fuser Kit Reset on HP Color LaserJet 4600 printer:
1. After maintenance has been completed, NEW FUSER KIT = will be displayed on your printer’s screen.
2. Press the arrow facing down and select YES. You can then press CHECK to reset it or access the CONFIGURE DEVICE menu.
3. Select RESETS and then RESET SUPPLIES.
4. Finally, hit NEW FUSER KIT, and later SELECT.
Transfer Kit Reset on HP Color LaserJet 8500/8550 printers:
1. Press the MENU button until RESETS MENU appears.
2. Press ITEM down until RESET TRANSFER LIFE COUNT is displayed.
3. Now press the SELECT key to rest, and then GO.
Fuser Kit Reset on HP Color LaserJet 8500/8550 printers:
1. Press MENU until RESETS MENU is displayed on your printer’s screen.
2. Hit the ITEM key until RESET FUSER LIFE COUNT unfolds.
3. Press SELECT.
4. Finally, press the GO button.
FOR CANON PRINTERS:
For Canon BJC-2100 printers:
Remove the ink cartridge and unplug the power cord., and then reconnect it while leaving the button pressed for about five (5) seconds.
Warning: You woll need to replace the printer’s felt after restoring it.
For Canon BJC-200 printer:
1. Remove the ink cartridges and unplug the power cord.
2. Close the frontal gate.
3. Press down the RESUME/RESET button while reconnecting the printer’s power cord.
4. Release the RESUME/RESET button.
5. Now press the RESUME/RESET down for five (5) seconds and let it go.
6. Repeat this last step for another five (5) seconds and let go.
7. Press the RESUME/RESET button for another two (2) seconds before releasing it.
8. Redo this last step for another two (2) seconds. Let this button go after it’s been done.
9. Disconnect the printer’s power cord.
Reset code for Canon Generic S Series:
Restarting the ink level indicator:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press down the RESUME button, and then do the same with the POWER key.
3. Release the RESUME button. You will need to press it two (2) more separate times.
Note: You must keep the POWER button pressed down while doing this. The headprint will try to reset itself or make a sudden move.If everything has been executed properly, the printer will enter Service Mode.
4. Press the RESUME button four (4) more times. This will select the ink level indicator and make the printer’s LED indicator to change color. The printer will do this every single time it’s been subjected to some major change.
Functions and their meanings:
1. SERVICE/fACTORY will make the printer print a test sheet to try out the ink sensor out.
2. EEPROM will print a full report on the printer.
3. EEPROM - will get this process started.
4. This will restart the ink residue counter.
5. Don’t take longer than necessary, this could cause some serious damage.
Once you’ve selected the button of your choosing, press the POWER button to make this change happen. Go back to the main menu and press the POWER button once more to your printer.
For Canon PIXMA IP1000/15000 printers:
Restart the ink level counter and access Service Mode manually:
1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Press down the POWER button and reconnect the power out.
3. The LED indicator must be blinking green.
4. Push the RESUME button down and release it. The LED indicator must know look orange.
5. Press the RESUME button once more and let it go. The LED indicator will shine green again.
6. Let go of all the buttons.
For Canon i320 and i255 printers:
Restarting the ink level indicator:
Step 1: Temporary Manual.
1. Disconnect both the USB cable and the power cord.
2. Open the printer’s gate and keep the POWER button pressed down.
3. Reconnect the printer’s power cord.
4. Close the gate and release the POWER button.
1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Turn the printer back on while pressing the POWER button down. Keep this key pressed down through the entire process.
3. The printer’s LED indicator will shine green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button for the first time. The LED indicator will now look orange.
5. Repeat this last step by pushing the RESUME button. The LED indicator will go back to green.
6. Let go of both buttons.
For Canon BJC1000 printer series:
1. Remove the ink cartridge of your choosing.
2. Disconnect your printer’s power cord.
3. Press the RESUME button down and keep it this way.
4. Reconnect the power cord and let go of the RESUME button.
5. Press the RESUME button again for about five (5) seconds before letting go.
6.Press the RESUME button again for two (2) or more seconds and release it.
7. Press this same button for another two (2) seconds and let it go.
8. Disconnect the power cord to save all this data..
For Canon BJC-210 BJC-240 BJC-250 BJC-255 BJC-265 and BJC-4100 BJC-4200 BJC-4300 BJC-4400 BJC-4550 BJC-4650 printer models:
1. Disconnect the printer’s power cord.
2. Press down the POWER and RESUME buttons.
3. Reconnet the power cord.
4. Press the RESUME button again.
5. Press the CARTRIDGE key first and then the RESUME button once more.
7. Press the POWER button.
8. Release all buttons after the printer starts beeping.
9. Press the CARTRIDGE key again.
10. FInally, press RESUME.
For Canon BJC-5000 printer models:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press the RESUME button first and then the POWER key. Your printer’s LED indicator will start blinking.
3. While the LED indicator is blinking, press the RESUME key twice. You must wait until the printer starts beeping and lets you know it’s entered Service Mode.
4. Once the LED indicator is blinking steadily in green, press the RESUME key four (4) more times. The LED indicator will remain this color.
5. Press POWER to save the data.
Canon service test print:
1. Turn your printer off.
2. Press and hold the RESUME key and then press POWER. The LED indicator will blink.
3. While it’s blinking, press the RESUME button two (2) more times. Wait until your printer starts beeping to indicate it’s entered Service Mode.
4. Once the LED indicator remains green, press RESUME twice. This indicator will not change colors.
5. Now press POWER to print.
Canon nozzle print:
1. Turn the printer off.
2.Press the POWER button down until your printer starts beeping. You can know let go of the key.
Demonstration print:
1. With the printer on, press and hold the RESUME button until your printer produces several beeps.
Reset procedure for Canon MP130 printers:
Please turn your printer on.
1. Press down MENU.
2. Now press SCAN COPY SCAN to gain access to the Service Mode.
3. Use the > key to get to NVRAM ACCESS.
4. Set the ABS-M LEVEL back to zero (0).
5. Set ABS-P LEVEL back to zero (0) as well.
6. Press STOP to exit Service Mode.
For Canon 5B00 error message:
Approval code for full ink wastepads error code.
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold the RESUME/CANCEL button, marked with a red triangle inside a circle. Now press the POWER button.
3. Keep both buttons pressed down while doing this.
4. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button twice while keeping the POWER key pressed down. Release both buttons.
5. Once the LED indicator is blinking green, press the RESUME/CANCEL button four (4) more times.
6. Finally, turn the printer off by using the POWER button.

While keeping your printer connected, press the POWER button down and hit the RESUME key five (5) times in a row. Your printer will print out a page with the results and general status.
Extended diagnosis:
While your printer’s connected, press the POWER key down and hit the RESUME button twelve (12) times in a row. The printer will produce a page with the results.
For HP Deskjet 800c printers:
Auto-test:
Once your printer’s on, press the POWER button down while you hit the RESUME key four (4) times. This is compatible with the following printer models:HP Deskjet 810c/ 825c/ 830c/ 840c/845c/ 880c/ 895.
Diagnostics test:
While your printer’s connected, press the POWER button down and hit the RESUME key four (4) times.
For HP C6656 (56-58) printers:
1. Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
2. Place a small piece of duct tape on the upper-left slot, on the exact the spot indicated with a red square in Figure A.
3. Put the ink cartridges back in the printer.
4. The printer will now perform page alignment tasks.
5. Once the alignment has been done, remove the ink cartridge from the printer once more.
6. Put another piece of duct tape on the upper-right contact, also indicated with a red square on Figure B.
7. Place the ink cartridge back in the printer, keeping both pieces of duct tape on. They will isolate the necessary contacts.
8. The printer will print another test sheet at this point.
9. After the test sheet has been finished, take the ink cartridge out.
10. Remove both pieces of duct tape carefully to avoid leaving any glue residue on the contacts.
11. Return the ink cartridge to the printer. It has already been restored.
For HP 51641, HP 51645, C1823, C6615 and C6578 printer models:
For more recent versions of the HP 51641 / 51645 / C1823 / C6615 / C6578 ink cartridges:
The following procedure will allow you to restart your printer’s ink level indicator and System ID.
- Extract the ink cartridges from your printer.
- Place a piece of duct tape on each of the four (4) metallic contacts on the upper-left side of the ink cartridges, right where the red squares are pointing in the pictures ahead. Place the ink cartridges back in the device.
- Close the printer’s gate and wait for ten (10) seconds.
- Reopen the gate and wait for the ink cartridges to reach a changing position.
- Remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
- Take off the pieces of duct tape covering the contacts on the left and put them on the contacts on the right side. The spots will be marked with a red square on the picture above.
- Put the ink cartridges back in the printer, close the gate and wait for another ten (10) seconds.
- Open the gate once more and wait for the ink cartridges to reach the same changing position.
- Remove the ink cartridges once more.
- Remove every piece of duct tape.
- Put all the ink cartridges back in the printer.
- The ink level indicators must now say FULL.
For HP Multifuncion D125 - D145 - D155 printer models:
The procedure described ahead will allow you to remove the ink level indicator inside your old ink cartridges and use recycled or refilled ones. You must keep in mind that, once you disable this ink level indicator, you will not be able to know if your ink levels are high or low, and risk depleting the ink cartridge completely. this could burn your print heads and render the ink cartridge useless.
1. Press the right and left arrows at the same time. Release them.
2. Press the 7, 8 and 9 keys.
3. Once the prompt disable has appeared on screen, press 1 for YES or 2 for NO.
To disable ink level indicator in the Tricolor ink cartridge:
1. Press the left and right arrow at the same time and release them.
2. Press the 4, 5 and 6 keys.
3. Press 1 for YES and 2 for NO now that the disable prompt has showed up.
To restore them back to factory settings:
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Press the 7 and 5 keys. Once the MAINTENANCE MENU unfolds, select RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS.
For HP Inkjet CP1160 printer model:
This following procedure will allow you to disable ink level indicator inside your ink cartridge and, therefore, use recycled or refilled ones. It’s important you remember that disabling this function will not let you know when ink is running low, so you may risk burning the print heads and damage the ink cartridge irreparably.
for Black ink cartridges:
1. Press the POWER button down.
2. Without letting go of this button, press the CANCEL button twelve (12) times and the RESUME one once.
3. Let go of the POWER key.
For Tricolor ink cartridges:
1. Press the POWER button down.
2. While keeping it pressed, press the CANCEL key twelve (12) times and the RESUME one thrice.
3. Let go of the POWER button.
For HP IIISi printers:
1. Press the ONLINE key until the light stops.
2. Now press the MENU button until PCL CONFIG MENU appears on screen.
3. Press the MENU key again until hasta SERVICE MSG=ON* shows up.
4- Hit the + or - keys until it turns to SERVICE MSG=OFF.
5. Press ENTER/RESET MENU; the * symbol will appear. Then press ONLINE once more.
For HP 4Si printers:
1. Press ONLINE until the light goes away.
2. Press the MENU key until CONFIG MENU appears.
3. Press the ITEM button until you0ve reached SERVICE MSG=ON.
4. Use the + or - keys to change this display to SERVICE MSG=OFF.
5. Finally, press ENTER until * shows up. Later, press ONLINE once more.
For HP5Si printers:
1. Press the MENU button four (4= times until you gain access to CONFIG MENU.
2. Press ITEM until SERVICE MESSAGE=OFF is displayed.
3. Press the ENTER key.
4. Finally, press ONLINE.
For HP 4000/4050/4100/5000 printers:
1. Disconnect the printer.
2. Press the left side of the ITEM key down (<-/->) and the VALUE +/- ones.
3- Reconnect the printer and wait until RESET MAINTENANCE COUNT is displayed.
Fuser maintenance on HP 4500/4550 printer:
1. Disconnect the printer.
2. Press the CANCEL JOB and SELECT keys on your printer, and then reconnect it. Wait until the display is completely blank and the LED indicators light up.
3. Press the right edges of the MENU and SELECT keys.
4. You will enter SERVICE MODE once the test has been completed.
5. Press the ITEM key (<-/->) until FUSER MAINTENANCE COUNT is displayed.
6. Press the VALUE +/- one to change this score to zero (0).
7. Press SELECT to save these settings.
8. Finally, hit the GO button.
For HP 8000/8100/8150 printers:
1. Press MENU until CONFIGURATION MENU is displayed.
2. Now press the ITEM key until you reach SERVICE MESSAGE = ON/OFF.
3. Select the OFF option.
4. Press SELECT to save these settings.
5. Disconnect the printer.
6. Press VALUE - (-/+) and ITEM <- (<-/->) as you’re reconnecting the printer. Wait until RESET MAINT/COUNT appears on screen to let go.
For HP 9000 printers:
1. Disconnect the printer.
2. Press the CHECK key.
3. Let go of this button only after all LED indicators are synched and SELECT LANGUAGE appears on screen.
4. Press the arrow pointing upwards until MAINTENANCE KIT unfolds.
5. finally, press CHECK once more. This will reset the counter.
For HP Color Laserjet 4500/4550 printer:
1. Press the MENU key until RESETS MENU is displayed.
2. Press ITEM (<-/->) until you reach TRANSFER KIT SELECT IF DONE.
3. Press the SELECT button.
Fuser Kit Reset on HP Color Laserjet 4500/4550 printer:
1. Press the MENU key until RESETS MENU appears on screen.
2. Press ITEM (<-/->) until you reach FUSER KIT SELECT IF DONE.
3. Now press the SELECT button.
4. Finally, hit GO.
Image Transfer Kit (ETB) Reset on HP Color LaserJet 4600 printers:
After maintenance has been completed on this printer, NEW TRANSFER KIT = should appear on screen.
Press the arrow facing down until you can dial YES and press the CHECK key to reset it. You could also enter CONFIGURE DEVICE, select RESETS and RESET SUPPLIES, and finally hit NEW TRANSFER KIT.
Fuser Kit Reset on HP Color LaserJet 4600 printer:
1. After maintenance has been completed, NEW FUSER KIT = will be displayed on your printer’s screen.
2. Press the arrow facing down and select YES. You can then press CHECK to reset it or access the CONFIGURE DEVICE menu.
3. Select RESETS and then RESET SUPPLIES.
4. Finally, hit NEW FUSER KIT, and later SELECT.
Transfer Kit Reset on HP Color LaserJet 8500/8550 printers:
1. Press the MENU button until RESETS MENU appears.
2. Press ITEM down until RESET TRANSFER LIFE COUNT is displayed.
3. Now press the SELECT key to rest, and then GO.
Fuser Kit Reset on HP Color LaserJet 8500/8550 printers:
1. Press MENU until RESETS MENU is displayed on your printer’s screen.
2. Hit the ITEM key until RESET FUSER LIFE COUNT unfolds.
3. Press SELECT.
4. Finally, press the GO button.
FOR CANON PRINTERS:
For Canon BJC-2100 printers:
Remove the ink cartridge and unplug the power cord., and then reconnect it while leaving the button pressed for about five (5) seconds.
Warning: You woll need to replace the printer’s felt after restoring it.
For Canon BJC-200 printer:
1. Remove the ink cartridges and unplug the power cord.
2. Close the frontal gate.
3. Press down the RESUME/RESET button while reconnecting the printer’s power cord.
4. Release the RESUME/RESET button.
5. Now press the RESUME/RESET down for five (5) seconds and let it go.
6. Repeat this last step for another five (5) seconds and let go.
7. Press the RESUME/RESET button for another two (2) seconds before releasing it.
8. Redo this last step for another two (2) seconds. Let this button go after it’s been done.
9. Disconnect the printer’s power cord.
Reset code for Canon Generic S Series:
Restarting the ink level indicator:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press down the RESUME button, and then do the same with the POWER key.
3. Release the RESUME button. You will need to press it two (2) more separate times.
Note: You must keep the POWER button pressed down while doing this. The headprint will try to reset itself or make a sudden move.If everything has been executed properly, the printer will enter Service Mode.
4. Press the RESUME button four (4) more times. This will select the ink level indicator and make the printer’s LED indicator to change color. The printer will do this every single time it’s been subjected to some major change.
Functions and their meanings:
1. SERVICE/fACTORY will make the printer print a test sheet to try out the ink sensor out.
2. EEPROM will print a full report on the printer.
3. EEPROM - will get this process started.
4. This will restart the ink residue counter.
5. Don’t take longer than necessary, this could cause some serious damage.
Once you’ve selected the button of your choosing, press the POWER button to make this change happen. Go back to the main menu and press the POWER button once more to your printer.
For Canon PIXMA IP1000/15000 printers:
Restart the ink level counter and access Service Mode manually:
1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Press down the POWER button and reconnect the power out.
3. The LED indicator must be blinking green.
4. Push the RESUME button down and release it. The LED indicator must know look orange.
5. Press the RESUME button once more and let it go. The LED indicator will shine green again.
6. Let go of all the buttons.
For Canon i320 and i255 printers:
Restarting the ink level indicator:
Step 1: Temporary Manual.
1. Disconnect both the USB cable and the power cord.
2. Open the printer’s gate and keep the POWER button pressed down.
3. Reconnect the printer’s power cord.
4. Close the gate and release the POWER button.
1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord.
2. Turn the printer back on while pressing the POWER button down. Keep this key pressed down through the entire process.
3. The printer’s LED indicator will shine green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button for the first time. The LED indicator will now look orange.
5. Repeat this last step by pushing the RESUME button. The LED indicator will go back to green.
6. Let go of both buttons.
For Canon BJC1000 printer series:
1. Remove the ink cartridge of your choosing.
2. Disconnect your printer’s power cord.
3. Press the RESUME button down and keep it this way.
4. Reconnect the power cord and let go of the RESUME button.
5. Press the RESUME button again for about five (5) seconds before letting go.
6.Press the RESUME button again for two (2) or more seconds and release it.
7. Press this same button for another two (2) seconds and let it go.
8. Disconnect the power cord to save all this data..
For Canon BJC-210 BJC-240 BJC-250 BJC-255 BJC-265 and BJC-4100 BJC-4200 BJC-4300 BJC-4400 BJC-4550 BJC-4650 printer models:
1. Disconnect the printer’s power cord.
2. Press down the POWER and RESUME buttons.
3. Reconnet the power cord.
4. Press the RESUME button again.
5. Press the CARTRIDGE key first and then the RESUME button once more.
7. Press the POWER button.
8. Release all buttons after the printer starts beeping.
9. Press the CARTRIDGE key again.
10. FInally, press RESUME.
For Canon BJC-5000 printer models:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press the RESUME button first and then the POWER key. Your printer’s LED indicator will start blinking.
3. While the LED indicator is blinking, press the RESUME key twice. You must wait until the printer starts beeping and lets you know it’s entered Service Mode.
4. Once the LED indicator is blinking steadily in green, press the RESUME key four (4) more times. The LED indicator will remain this color.
5. Press POWER to save the data.
Canon service test print:
1. Turn your printer off.
2. Press and hold the RESUME key and then press POWER. The LED indicator will blink.
3. While it’s blinking, press the RESUME button two (2) more times. Wait until your printer starts beeping to indicate it’s entered Service Mode.
4. Once the LED indicator remains green, press RESUME twice. This indicator will not change colors.
5. Now press POWER to print.
Canon nozzle print:
1. Turn the printer off.
2.Press the POWER button down until your printer starts beeping. You can know let go of the key.
Demonstration print:
1. With the printer on, press and hold the RESUME button until your printer produces several beeps.
Reset procedure for Canon MP130 printers:
Please turn your printer on.
1. Press down MENU.
2. Now press SCAN COPY SCAN to gain access to the Service Mode.
3. Use the > key to get to NVRAM ACCESS.
4. Set the ABS-M LEVEL back to zero (0).
5. Set ABS-P LEVEL back to zero (0) as well.
6. Press STOP to exit Service Mode.
For Canon 5B00 error message:

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold the RESUME/CANCEL button, marked with a red triangle inside a circle. Now press the POWER button.
3. Keep both buttons pressed down while doing this.
