Most of the time, these HP 10 ink cartridges are used on HP Designjet printers, and come in two different presentations: normal size, and extra-large size. 2. A black piece of cloth and a flat surface to avoid ink spills.
3. Identifying each cartridge’s color properly. Failing to do this will damage the ink cartridge and render useless. These injuries are very hard to fix, so please avoid them at all costs.
Step #1:
Place the ink cartridge on a flat surface and a piece of dark or black cloth before starting the refill process.
Step #2:
You will need to refill this ink cartridge by removing the bottom from it, exposing the ink injector, the pump and the proper refill site. Please take a good look at the following picture to know where to remove the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Please cut the label off exactly where indicated in the previous picture. The red line marks the spot, so please cut over that line to divide the ink cartridge in two. This will expose the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Step #3:
After removing the label, the ink cartridge will look like this. You will need to make this cut using an empty syringe, and you must try to make a small, black rubber ball come out of the ink cartridge with it. The picture marks it with #1.
Take the black rubber ball out of the ink cartridge very carefully and slowly, and keep it from receding to the back of the ink cartridge. Be very aware of the ball not going inside the cartridge.
Step #4:
Fill the syringes with the appropriate amounts of ink. If you’re using a normal sized ink cartridge, add 30ml to each syringe. If, on the other hand, you’re using an extra-large one, please add 50ml of ink.
We do not recommend refilling these particular ink cartridges with piercing syringes, since they could puncture the metal sheet inside the ink cartridges and cause ink spills. Insert the needle only a little bit in the ink cartridge to avoid piercing this metal sheet; use but the tip of the needle.
Step #5:
Put the black rubber ball back in the ink cartridge; ti will act as a cap and keep the ink from leaving the cartridge. Remember to do this softly to avoid pushing it into the ink cartridge, since they’re very hard to replace and it could damage the ink cartridge as a whole.
Let the cartridge rest with this rubber ball facing downwards, just to check everything’s worked out fine and there isn’t any ink coming out of the injection hole or the place we just closed.
Step #6:
Place the bottom lid back on the ink cartridge, and leave it, lid facing down, on the piece of cloth just to check for any problems or ink spills. Your ink cartridge should print perfectly if you’ve followed this steps to the letter.
However, if things don’t go according to plan, we’re here to help. Please post a comment in the section below this post and we will gladly help you out.
